All’s well that ends Well…..

Well, this worked out for the best, Ernst Der Giftpilz is in jail, and even though he has a lawyer, with the evidence against him I doubt he will be getting out of there any time soon. With some help from my new friends, I think I ended up doing the right thing. Callie sure thinks so, so I guess it must have been okay. We are going out to dinner tonight, and for dessert, I think it will be a jellyroll… with sprinkles on it.
Cookietown is really a great place, and the people who live here have been so helpful. I don’t know if there will still be a need for an assistant inspector here in the Health Department, but hopefully there will be something for me to do. I could get to like it here. I’ve been following the developments in town on the news site right here. Seems like they are having some sort of a contest.
Callie is standing at the doorway to my office right now, looking at me expectantly. I suppose I should get out of here and take a lady to get something to eat.
Bye for now.

P.S. the bouquet ended up being a pretty good idea after all.

Decisions made

I had a hard decision to make, but I am heading off with Callie to see her Uncle. We have to make this right.

Callie wants me to do what?

I showed the documents I was given to Callie, and she seemed so happy. Apparently, her uncle really is the owner of PastryBot bakeries, just like everyone had been telling me, and therefore the director of this pscura stuff I kept hearing about. I told her that I was confused and wondered if I should take the information directly to the police. She said that the police wouldn’t do anything, they were being paid by the chief inspector. Then she asked me to do something that is so crazy, I’m not sure if I can. She asked me to go with her to give the documents to her uncle.
I am still not sure if her uncle, pscura, and PastryBot are trustworthy, things have moved so fast. Callie is on messenger right now, trying to convince me otherwise, but I’m not sure

Finally Home

Finally getting home from work. It has been a rough day, and it is hard sometimes, not having anyone to talk about this stuff with. I feel like I need to decompress. Oh! Callie just came online. Maybe she will have time to talk. That’s it for now then.

A Raid

I was going to post another blog just now, but the boss stuck his head around my door and told me to get ready, we were raiding PastryBot Bakery. I’ll update once I know more.

The Boss Sure is Busy

My Boss is working on a press release for the Cookietown Chronicle at the moment.  He seems to be so busy right now, always on the phone and computer.  Seems like he is going to be offering a reward for any information that implicates bakeries in the production of pastries with sprinkles or fruit filling.  Seems like this is his personal project though, since he mentioned in passing that he would be reviewing the tip line, and would be handling all email tips from his personal email as well.  Guess I’ll keep plugging away on this paperwork.  Hope I don’t have any questions to ask him, since it looks like he will be busy with this new project.

A Mover and Shaker

I got a memo from the boss today, along with some business cards with my name on them. I feel so official with those riding along in my pocket! The memo was to introduce us to the new automated tip line to deal with the abundance of illegal pastries that are on the streets. I guess they feel that if they give the residents of Cookietown a way to report suspicious activities anonymously, it will help cut down on the pastry trafficking. I hope that this helps point the department in the right direction. So now I have an email address, a website, and a phone number on my business card, what a mover and shaker, eh?

My Business Card!

And Degravedi, I would get her some flowers, but I’m not sure if she is allergic!  Perhaps I can ask her today without her being suspicious.  She does seem to be in a better mood.

Home for the night.

I got a chance to show Callie those little pips just before I left work, and she reacted in a pretty odd way. Not that I mind being pulled into my office by my admittedly pretty assistant (thank goodness she doesn’t read this), but having the door slammed and Callie ask me where I found those is pretty unsettling. When I told her where I found them, she relaxed a bit, put the envelope in her pocket, and told me she would take care of the forms. Odd though, when I asked which ones needed to be filled out, she just shrugged and said she’s take care of it again. How am I going to learn this job if she keeps doing everything for me?
After I got home I signed onto my instant messenger, and Callie was on.

Here is out conversation:

brockollie: hey callie, home from work already?
cookietowncallie: Sure I am Brock, though I would think that you get enough of me at work. What can i do for you?
brockollie: Oh nothing really, I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed dinner with you the other night.
cookietowncallie: Well thanks, Brock, I had a good time too.
brockollie: I thought that perhaps I could help you with the paperwork from that inspection today. I can be pretty good at filling forms out in triplicate.
cookietowncallie: Oh that is okay, Brock, I can take care of the paperwork myself, it is really no big deal.
brockollie: Well, if you insist. Guess I will see you at work tomorrow then.
cookietowncallie: See you then Brock.
brockollie: Oh, one last thing. This paper fell out of your purse on the way out of the office, do you still need it? http://i28.tinypic.com/jb3era.jpg Looks like you wrote “PScura” on the back of it. If you don’t need it I will just go ahead and throw it away.
cookietowncallie: Oh…… well… go ahead and toss it. I don’t think I will be needing it anymore.
brockollie: Alright then Callie.
cookietowncallie: Thanks, Brock.

I think she still seems a little cold, but at least she is being polite.

Questions about Pastrybot Bakery

I just got back from the PastryBot Bakery, after conducting that inspection that my boss has been pushing me on. I don’t know if I was seeing things right, but it looked to me as if they had been using the machine for some kind of fruit paste recently. I collected some of these little pips, but I’m not sure where they came from.

not sure what kind of seeds these are

I’ll have to talk to Callie to see how to handle the next step in the process. I hate having to fumble about, but being new to the job, I don’t want to make a wrong move and get myself canned, I can’t afford it. I would have asked her today, but when I got back to the office, she was on the phone talking to someone about “PScura”. I have no idea what that means, but she was messing about on the internet while she was talking to them so who knows. I’ll catch her before I leave for the day I suppose, when she isn’t busy.
On a much more plesant note, dinner with Callie went really well last night. It seemed that we lingered over drinks after dinner for some time, and she told me a lot about growing up in Cookietown. An interesting place, but something still seems a bit off.

Tiplines and the Boss

So I was checking the messages on the tipline this morning, and I came across one that said that Cupcake Castle was making pastries with sprinkles on them. Of course I took it to my boss right away, but he didn’t seem very interested. Looking at me over those half glasses he wears while he is on the computer, he said, “Don’t you vorry about dis, I vill take care of dur cupcake castle”

Then he told me that I needed to get over to PastryBot to conduct my inspection. So that is where I am headed. I should be back in an hour or so.
